The new gun law in the state of Alabama allows, among other things, employees to transport or store firearms in their privately-owned motor vehicles under certain circumstances, for example when the employee has a valid concealed weapons permit. An employer can prohibit employees from bringing firearms inside the workplace or where the employee is engaged in the employer's work, but an employer cannot restrict employees from having a firearm that is out of sight and in the employee's locked vehicle under certain circumstances.
