The law firm of Beddow, Erben, Bowen & Wales, PA has its origins in 1895, twenty five years after the founding of the City of Birmingham in 1871. Although the early focus of the practice was criminal defense, as the years, partners and associates have come and gone, our practice area has grown to incorporate business law, civil litigation, matrimonial and family law, and probate matters.

Our Team

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Frederick A. Erben graduated from the University of Alabama in 1963 a Bachelor of Science in Business. In 1966 he received his Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham.

A Birmingham native, Jennifer graduated from Huntingdon College In 2001. In 2004, she received her JD, with a Certificate in International Law from Loyola University New Orleans, School of Law.

Employee Retention Tax Credit

Beddow, Erben, Bowen & Wales, PC has partnered with the EJ Saad firm in Mobile to assist clients in applying for the Employee Retention Tax Credit. The Employee Retention Credit (ERC) is a program set up under the CARES Act in response to the Pandemic. The credit repays a portion of wages paid by employers financially impacted by the Pandemic. The IRS will send your business a check for the amount you qualify to receive. These funds are not a loan that must be repaid nor are you restricted in the use of the money.
