The law firm of Beddow, Erben & Bowen, PA has its origins in 1895, twenty five years after the founding of the City of Birmingham in 1871. Although the early focus of the practice was criminal defense, as the years, partners and associates have come and gone, our practice area has grown to incorporate business law, civil litigation, matrimonial and family law, and probate matters.

Our Team

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Frederick A. Erben graduated from the University of Alabama in 1963 a Bachelor of Science in Business. In 1966 he received his Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham.

A Birmingham native, Jennifer graduated from Huntingdon College In 2001. In 2004, she received her JD, with a Certificate in International Law from Loyola University New Orleans, School of Law.

Alabama Court of Civil Appeals grants Summary Judgment

Today, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals affirmed the Marshall County Domestic Relations Circuit Court decision granting Summary Judgment to our client, declaring the fraudulent marriage and the property transfers to be Void ab Initio. Fred Erben, and local counsel Dee Walker, handled the trial of the case and oral arguments; while John Gray primarily drafted the Motion for Summary Judgment and the Appeal.
